GRAPEVINE, TEX. — It’s no surprise that FCC Chairman Ajit Pai opened his remarks at the National Association of Tower Erectors annual conference at the Gaylord Hotel here in this Dallas-Fort Worth suburb — a facility with a broadcast tower-like structure in its atrium — with chat about his beloved Kansas City Chiefs and their absence from “the Super Bowl LIII snoozefest.”
That’s par for the course for Pai, who made his first appearance at a NATE conference on Wednesday (2/6). But, it is what he said about the present state of the FCC’s post-Spectrum Auction repack process that is perhaps worthy of a cheer from broadcasters.
