Outdoor Channel hits 10 Million homes in HD

The Outdoor TV niche leader announced that its HD channel now reaches 45% of cable homes that receive Outdoor Channel–more than 10 million homes across the U.S. since its HD service launched three years ago. The achievement represents a 34% YOY increase in its HD service.


Outdoor Channel also announced it will be added to Comcast’s Digital Preferred tier in the Greater Chicago area effective in August, in addition to maintaining its existing position on the Sports & Entertainment tier.

Since January, Outdoor Channel HD has launched on 198 new cable systems, including Time Warner Cable, Comcast, Cox Communications, Verizon FiOS, Knology, Suddenlink Communications and Midcontinent Communications, among others. Notable markets include: Detroit, MI; Minneapolis, MN; Las Vegas, NV; Tulsa, OK; Fort Meyers, FL; and Sioux Falls, SD.

Most recently, Outdoor Channel HD launched on Charter Communications’ system in the Reno market as part of the Sports Tier. Moreover, the high definition channel was introduced on Cox Communications’ systems in Las Vegas and Omaha as part of the Digital Plus Pak. Both cable providers also carry Outdoor Channel in SD.
