Oklahoma radio trio sold

SoldAlthough the FCC would consider just-sold KLBC-FM, KSEO-AM and KBBC-FM to be in unrated territory, the fact is there are two companies working there, one measuring radio listening and the other TV viewing. Maybe that explains the nice valuation.

KLBC-FM and KSEO-AM are licensed to Durant OK and KBBC-FM is licensed to Tishomingo OK. As radio stations, they are measured by Eastlan as stations within the confines of the Sherman-Denison/Durant market, currently ranked #185 on the Eastlan market list that combines both its markets and those measured by Nielsen Audio.

Nielsen’s legacy television service is also active there – it calls the market Sherman-Ada.

The market straddles, obviously, the Texas-Oklahoma state line. It is north of Dallas-Fort Worth.

The seller of the stations is Texoma Broadcasting Inc., headed by Allen Wheeler.

The buyer is Mid-Continent Broadcasting LLC, headed by Kinion Whittington.

The price: $2,450,000 cash.

KLBC-FM is a Class C3 on 106.3 MHz with 16.5 kW @ 404’
KSEO-AM is a Class D on 750 kHz with 220 W-D, ND
