Oklahoma AM changing hands

SoldThere will not be a lot of money changing hands in the sale of KMAD-AM Madill OK, but that said, the transaction is not without its points of interest.

The station serves a portion of Oklahoma that is very much rated, just not by Nielsen Audio.

The seller is Keystone Broadcasting Corporation, headed by President Robert S. Sullins.

The buyer is North Texas Radio Group LP, headed by Richard E. Witkovski.

The price is a very modest $40,000 cash.

KMAD-AM is a Class D on 1550 kHz with 250 W-D, 90 W-N, ND. It is not located in a Nielsen-rated radio market, but is part of the Sherman TX-Ada OK Nielsen television DMA. Radio stations in the area are rated by Eastlan. KMAD is situated between Sherman and Ada, failing to project a primary contour over either.

The station will be a standalone.

The companies will have an ongoing relationship even after this deal closes. NTRG owns KZRC-FM Bennington OK, which it leases to KBC in an LMA. Both companies hold other stations.

NTRG has a pending deal to sell KOME-FM Meridian TX to Chisholm Trail Broadcasting $130,000.
