NEW YORK — The head of the nation’s largest broadcast television station ownership group, which seeks to grow even further by acquiring the company formerly known as Gannett, told an investor conference on Monday that the proposed merger that pushes Nexstar Media Group well above current national TV ownership reach caps is the direct result of President Trump winning the 2024 U.S. presidential election.
As such, Perry Sook is convinced President Trump will not thwart the eventual combination of Nexstar and TEGNA.
