Univision Powers Up ‘Noticias’ For Altice USA

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. — Across the New York Tri-State area, three MVPD giants dominate the region. In the city, it is Spectrum, the Charter Communications-owned service that took over Time Warner Cable. In Northern New Jersey, it is largely Comcast.

For cable TV subscribers in Westchester County and across Long Island, Altice USA is the main provider, having taken over the former Cablevision in summer 2016. The MVPD reaches areas of the New York DMA that are more Hispanic than ever. As such, it is beefing up its heritage News 12 cable TV channel by adding Spanish-language newscasts to its digital offerings.

It couldn’t be done without the help of “America’s Hispanic Superbrand.”

Correction: An earlier version of this story incorrectly referred to Charter Communications’ consumer brand as Optimum. It is Spectrum; Optimum is the consumer brand of Altice USA. We apologize for the error.
