So you have the new Samsung Galaxy Note9 but haven’t been able to download all-new versions of your favorite apps from the Google Play store, including NextRadio?

Not to fear: It has just become the latest device powered by Google’s Android operating system to support the app that turns any smartphone into an FM radio.

“We are thrilled to see the number of Android phones with FM radio continue to grow,” says NextRadio President Paul Brenner. “The launch of the Samsung Galaxy Note9 is especially exciting, as this model is a showcase for premium technology and industry-defining innovation. We look forward to the Galaxy Note9 being available to millions of users who will be able to listen to free radio on their phone in North America.”

The nextradioapp.com supported device page has been updated to reflect the new phone and carrier information.

“Market leaders like Samsung continue to provide users an immersive radio experience,” Brenner notes. “Through the free NextRadio app, Galaxy Note9 consumers can listen to live, local radio stations. Also, when cellular coverage is congested or unavailable, the FM chip will provide life-saving information from local radio stations.”

The availability of the app to Note9 users comes as Hawai’i continues to clean up from Hurricane Lane, which dumped an amount of rain second only to Hurricane Harvey one year ago.

NextRadio is not only available in the U.S. and Canada but also in Mexico.
