NextRadio continues rapid growth pattern

tagstationNAB President/CEO is one of the latest to extol the virtues of a radio presence on cell phones, and he does so in an environment in which the service is getting bigger daily.


NextRadio proponent TagStation provided a list of enhancements available to stations using the application.

According to TagStation, radio programming can be enhanced top allow users to place a phone call, send a text message, visit the website, add a calendar event, get a map location or get a coupon.

They can also like or dislike something, save something for later, view from a history or share with social media.

Smith said in an NAB@Work newsletter, ““Ultimately, a robust broadcast radio presence in smartphones depends on you. The more stations are providing exciting, interactive hybrid radio content via users’ smartphones, the more popular these products will become. We encourage you to get on board with NextRadio and the hybrid radio experience in 2015.”

And now for the latest stats:
* Over 1,575,000 app downloads
* Over 11,160 FM radio stations tuned to from the app
* Over 2,630,000 hours of listening through NextRadio
* A 4/5 Google Play Store user rating

There was another recent milestone achieved: on 1/24/15, NextRadio registered 1,000,000 minutes of app listing in a single day.
