MVPD ‘Good Faith’ Complaint Against Nexstar Nixed

In March, one Tennessee-based operator planning to bring cable TV services to a rural portion of the state filed a “Good Faith Negotiation Complaint” against one of the nation’s largest broadcast TV companies.

According to this small MVPD, Nexstar Media Group violated the Commission’s rules requiring broadcasters to exercise “good faith” in negotiating retransmission consent agreements for its forthcoming service.

The Media Bureau’s Chief just ruled on the matter, and it disagrees with the MVPD.
