Arkansas TodayWith NBC affiliates in four Arkansas markets, Nexstar Broadcasting Group is using its extensive news platform and technical resources to launch the first daily statewide newscast. “Arkansas Today” launched Monday, April 2nd and will air Monday through Friday, noon to 12:30 pm.

Arkansas Today airs on KARK Little Rock, KNWA Fayetteville, KTVE El Dorado, AR/West Monroe, LA and KTAL Shreveport, LA/Texarkana, AR.

And since this is business, Nexstar notes that it establishes “a marketing platform capable of supporting businesses of all sizes throughout Arkansas.”

Arkansas Today’s anchors will be joined by local market reporters in every newscast. Also, the company is making use of its team of 12 meteorologists and three live Doppler radars across the state.

In addition, Arkansas Today will feature “Razorback Nation,” a daily report on University of Arkansas athletics originating from Fayetteville.

“Our launch of Arkansas Today allows us to leverage our extensive footprint throughout the state and the strength of our news gathering and reporting resources, including three satellite trucks and nine  live trucks that travel the state.  These resources combined with our statewide teams of anchors and reporters will bring Arkansas viewers the state’s most comprehensive daily news and weather coverage in a format they can’t get anywhere else,” said Nexstar Broadcasting Executive VP and Co-COO Brian Jones. “Simply put, Arkansas Today reflects Nexstar’s core commitment to bring viewers the most relevant local news and community programming.”

Arkansas Today will have live capabilities from all four markets and will be broadcast in HD from KARK’s studio and hub operation in Little Rock. Nexstar Broadcasting owns KARK-TV, KNWA-TV and KTAL-TV and through an outsourcing agreement provides services to KTVE-TV, which is licensed to Mission Broadcasting.
