The organization that operates WYPR, the NPR Member station offering spoken word programming to Baltimore, and Adult Alternative sibling WTMD, has selected the President and CEO of Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore to lead its Board of Directors.

Taking the Board Chair role at Baltimore Public Media (BPM) is Dr. Bradley Schlaggar.

He takes a key role alongside BPM President Craig Swagler, with both dedicated to driving revenue growth at the noncommercial radio stations.

Schlaggar commented, “I’ve been a fan, consumer, and member of public radio stations for nearly four decades. Public media plays critically important roles in local communities for news, arts, music, and culture. Baltimore Public Media exemplifies those critical roles for our region. Working with president and general manager, and the outstanding staffs of both stations, I’m thrilled to be able to support, along with our superb board of directors,  altimore Public Media’s mission and exciting next grand chapter.”

Dr. Schlaggar holds the Zanvyl Krieger Faculty Endowed Chair at Kennedy Krieger Institute. He is also a Professor of Neurology and Pediatrics at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.

Dr. Schlaggar is no stranger to supporting public media, as served for six years on the Friends Board of St. Louis Public Radio.

Dr. Schlaggar will serve a three-year term with Baltimore Public Media.
