Congress failed to rein in spending on political advertising with McCain-Feingold, and the Supreme Court further opened the floodgates with Citizens United – so now Sen. Bill Nelson (D-FL) is renewing an effort to put the FCC on the task.
Nelson is Ranking Member of the Senate Commerce Committee.
