In February 2017, a globally recognized organization known for its application-oriented research sued SiriusXM in a Delaware federal court, accusing the subscription-based satellite radio purveyor of infringing on a patent. A delay emerged, and the judge at first believed it was titling the case in SiriusXM’s favor. Now, more than nine years later, the arbiter has ruled against Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft on the grounds that its lengthy time extension needs were not moving the case forward.
