SoldGeorgia Corporation Radio Training Network has filed paperwork with the FCC to sell an FM translator construction permit.


W259BZ is licensed to Blowing Rock, N.C., which is in the northwestern portion of the state, near the Tennessee border.

The buyer is Newton-Conover Communications, which intends to use the translator to re-transmit WAIZ, Hickory, N.C., a Class D which transmits 1,000 watts day.57 watts night from a single tower and using a non-directional antenna; the station operates on 630 kHz.

In order to accomplish this, Newton-Conover intends to take advantage of the one-time waiver to move the CP up to 250-miles.

Currently off the air, W259BZ operates on 99.7 MHz with an ERP of 10 watts @ 852’ HAAT.

The price is $60,000 and a $6,000 cash deposit was to be placed in escrow and applied to the purchase price. The balance of the price is to be paid at closing.
