As NBCUniversal prepares for the audience and advertising boon of the 2024 Paris Olympics, the company has formed a first-time collaboration with AMC Theatres to bring live Olympic event broadcasts to theaters. From July 27 to August 11, fans can enjoy select daytime coverage at approximately 160 AMC locations nationwide.

Tickets for these viewings will be available for purchase through AMC and Fandango starting this summer.

This initiative is part of NBCUniversal’s extensive coverage plans for the Olympics, which also include broadcasts on the NBC network and streaming on Peacock. NBCUniversal holds the U.S. media rights for the Olympic Games through 2032, covering future events in Milan Cortina, Los Angeles, and Brisbane, with the host city for the 2030 Winter Games yet to be announced.

To kick off the promotion, an NBCUniversal trailer showcasing the upcoming Paris Olympics coverage will start playing in AMC theatres on March 29.

NBC Olympics President Gary Zenkel commented, “The Olympic Games always provide a wonderful, shared experience, and this summer communities across the country will have the opportunity to cheer for Team USA or their own hometown hero in local AMC Theatres. The afternoon broadcasts on NBC will offer many of the most compelling live moments from Paris, and we believe these gatherings will fuel overall enthusiasm for the Games.”

AMC Theatres Chairman and CEO Adam Aron expressed, “We are excited to extend NBC’s daily live coverage of the Paris Olympic Games to AMC Theatres across the country, allowing fans to gather and watch the drama, intrigue, and spectacle of the Summer Games this July.”
