NBC Universal is looking to grow internationally, but it is focusing on its overseas pay TV operations. To that end, it has sold its free, over the air channel Das Vierte in Germany.

Terms weren’t disclosed as NBC Universal Global Networks sold the German channel to Mini Movie International Channel. Das Vierte, which launched in 2005, is said to reach about 90% of German households and had a 1% viewing share. The new owner plans to continue to grow it as a general entertainment channel.

Meanwhile, NBCU is looking to more than double the size of its international business in the next 2-3 years by focusing on pay TV.
