NBC's 'The Biggest Loser' still solid Tuesday

At 10 p.m., the second season finale of “Parenthood” (2.5/7 in 18-49, 6.3 million viewers overall) delivered its highest 18-49 rating since September 21 and biggest overall viewer total since the season premiere on September 14. 


Week to week, “Parenthood” is up 19 percent in 18-49 rating (2.5 vs. 2.1) and up 21 percent or 1.1 million persons in total viewers (6.311 million vs. 5.215 million).

In the time period, “Parenthood” ranked #1 among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49, women 18-49 and adults, men and women 18-34. 

These “Parenthood” results are likely to increase substantially when Nielsen issues “live plus seven day” results for the week of April 4-10. 

Through the season’s first 26 weeks, “Parenthood” added an average 41 percent to its 18-49 rating when going from the previously reported “live plus same day” ratings to its “live plus seven day” results, the #2 percentage increase among all primetime series on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW.

From 8-10 p.m. ET, “The Biggest Loser: Couples” (2.3/6 in 18-49, 6.6 million viewers overall) tied for #2 among ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW in adults 18-49 and was #2 outright in adults 18-34 and all key adult female demographics in a competitive time period that included ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars” and “Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution,” Fox’s “Glee” and CBS’s encores of “NCIS” and “NCIS: LA.”  From its first half-hour to its fourth, “Biggest Loser” grew by 35 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 2.7 from a 2.0) and by 11 percent in total viewers (7.1 million vs. 6.4 million).

For the night, NBC is #2 among ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW in adults 18-49.
