Jamie Gillespie, a longtime NAB government affairs leader, has accepted a new role on Capitol Hill for one of the nation’s biggest media and entertainment companies.

Starting June 5, Gillespie will serve as VP in the Global Public Affairs and Policy group for 21st Century Fox.

He reports to SVP Kathleen Ramsey, who leads the company’s advocacy efforts before Congress and the administration.

Fox EVP Chip Smith commented, “Ensuring policymakers have a true understanding and healthy appreciation for the creative community’s positive contributions to culture and the American economy is critical to our company’s future. Jamie has a proven track-record of effective advocacy, and we are thrilled to add his talents to our efforts.”

Gillespie joined the NAB in 2006 and most recently served as its VP/Government Relations, helping shape many of the most pivotal public policy debates impacting the television industry—including retransmission consent, satellite carriage laws, and copyright protection issues.

Prior to joining NAB, Gillespie served as an aide to Sens. Daniel Inouye (D-Hawaii) and Ernest F. Hollings (D-S.C.).

Speaking of Gillespie, NAB EVP/Communications Dennis Wharton said, “For more than a decade, Jamie has been an excellent advocate for NAB on behalf of broadcasters across America. We wish him nothing but continued success as he joins the talented Washington office of 21st Century Fox.”
