NAB has asked the FCC to clarify how the agency will determine which stations may be relocated in the wireless band after the incentive spectrum auction.
The broadcast trade lobby is asking for clarification as to whether the FCC’s incentive auction design is consistent with the Spectrum Act’s requirement that the auction be voluntary for broadcasters, or whether the commission’s mechanism will “nudge broadcasters into participating,” according to NAB vice president of Spectrum Policy Patrick McFadden.
