KIX Gets The Boot In Praise-worthy Deal

Everybody knows Ernie Anderson‘s voice from those old 1970s promos for The Love Boat.

Ya’ think The Love Station has something similar to offer?

That’s the name of a Ponca City, Okla., company that is purchasing a Class A FM between Ardmore and Oklahoma City.

And, it’s the subject of RBR+TVBR’s TRANSACTIONS TODAY for March 1, 2018.

The Love Station Inc. is founded by CEO Doyle Brewer, and he’s agreed to purchase KIXO-FM 106.1, licensed to Sulphur, Okla., for $125,000.

The seller of the Country station branded as “KIX 106” is DFWU Inc., helmed by Sherry Austin.

There is no broker in this transaction.

DFWU will continue to own its lone other broadcast asset, KFXI-FM 92.1 in Marlow, Okla.

The Love Station Inc. owns seven full-power stations and 10 translators across Oklahoma; and an FM translator in Wichita, Kansas.

All air the noncommercial “My Praise FM” Christian AC format, which will replace “Oklahoma’s Best Country.”
