She first joined WNBC-4 in New York in March 2018 as VP of News. Now, she is earning a promotion that puts her in charge of editorial content for the station and NBCUniversal Local Telemundo-affiliated sibling WNJU-47.

Amy Morris is now SVP of News, and according to WNBC President/GM Eric Lerner, is “an exceptional journalist and an outstanding leader. She strengthened our award-winning I-Team, enhanced our weather coverage and grew the Storm Team 4 weather team. Our breaking news capabilities have also improved, enabling WNBC to take the big story live across all platforms – and often before anyone else in the market.”

Morris’ resume includes a role as Asst. News Director for ABC’s WPVI-6 in Philadelphia. She’s also served as an Executive Producer for WABC-7 in New York and WLS-7 in Chicago and is a former WDBJ-TV in Roanoke News Director.

With Morris’ elevation, Alexa Rodríguez is now News Director for WNJU while David Manney takes the role for WNBC. Both will report to Morris.
