SEATTLE — University of Washington Athletics and Learfield’s Huskies Sports Properties have agreed to a multi-year extension of their partnership with iHeartMedia in Seattle, a move that deepens the station group’s role as the collegiate teams’ flagship radio partner.

The iHeartMedia/Seattle station group includes Sports KJR-FM 93.3 and KJR-AM 950. These stations have had a five-year partnership with the Huskies. As part of the expanded agreement, iHeartMedia/Seattle will continue to serve as a primary radio destination for Husky sports, bringing football, men’s basketball, and women’s basketball coverage to listeners.

The fresh agreement will bring new shoulder content. This includes a daily update on UW women’s athletics airing on KJR-AM and “The Husky Nation,” a year-round, long-form show airing on KJR-FM. Then, there is “Purple Friday Minute,” a weekly feature spotlighting Husky athletics scheduled to air each Friday across all nine iHeartMedia stations in the Seattle-Tacoma market.

“We’re excited to extend our partnership with iHeartMedia Seattle and KJR, keeping Washington Athletics front and center for Husky fans,” said University of Washington Director of Athletics Pat Chun. “This expanded relationship creates new appearance and endorsement opportunities for our student-athletes and deepens fan engagement across every broadcast.”

Mark Glynn, Area President for iHeartMedia Washington, added, “As we step into an exciting new chapter with the University of Washington, our commitment to engaging fans and elevating Husky Athletics is stronger than ever. I’m proud that our support for UW not only continues, but grows—bigger, louder, and more connected than ever, with audio at the heart of it all.”

Washington’s radio broadcast rights are managed by Huskies Sports Properties, the locally based team of Learfield.
