Funding for many non-profit religious organizations comes in the form of support from the organization’s constituency, and is often in the form of cash or a check. But The Moody Bible Institute found something a little different among its donations.
It found K261CH, an FM translator serving Carpenter SD.
The station is an outright donation from Christian Heritage Broadcasting Inc., headed by President/Executive Director David McIver.
VP Colling Lambert signed off on the transaction for Moody.
According to the application, the translator will be tied to the operation of another translator, K213CL Huron SD.
K261CH operates on 100.1 MHz with 250 W @ 190’. It’s in unrated territory in the southeast quadrant of South Dakota.
Located just to the southwest is K213CL, a 90.5 MHz facility with 250 W @ 159’.
Moody typically applies for main studio waivers for its radio properties and operates them for the most part as network affiliates.
