MMTC Brings EEO ‘Errors Of Fact’ To Fifth Commissioner

The Multicultural Media, Telecom and Internet Council has been chatting in recent days with the FCC’s Commissioners and Chairman Ajit Pai to voice its concerns on the review of the Broadcast and Cable Equal Employment Opportunity rules and policies — in particular the elimination of radio and TV stations’ obligation to file Form 397.

Now that Geoffrey Starks has become a Democratic FCC Commissioner, the MMTC met with his acting legal advisor in person to share their thoughts on what it considers to be “errors of fact, policy and law” in Paragraph 10 of a Jan. 3, 2019 “White Copy.”

MMTC also shared its thoughts on proposals for a new Class C4 FM station classification and modifications of the Commission’s short-spacing rules.
