Unilever, P&G Power Up Spot TV Buys

With GEICO firmly in place as the top brand using Spot TV, by play count, there’s lots of new activity at over-the-air television with respect to campaigns getting a boost.


For the week ending April 4, a Unilever brand and a Procter & Gamble Co. brand, in particular, made waves with consumers.

Unilever’s Dove soap brand now rests at No. 7 on the latest Spot Ten report, climbing from No. 50.

Then, there is Tide, the venerable P&G laundry brand. It jumps to No. 6, from No. 26.

What else is noteworthy? Neutrogena, McDonald’s and Target each saw their spots get more airplay at the TV stations tracked by Media Monitors.

There is new activity from JCPenney and Little Caesars, while Allstate is back in a big way.

Still, auto insurers Liberty Mutual Insurance and GEICO still have a huge lead, while Discovery+ continues to heavily promote its OTT offering to MVPD subscribers.
