What do pizza, NBA action and dental care have in common? Brands representing each of these subjects dished out the dollars for a significant number of spots that aired last week on Spot Cable, the latest data from Media Monitors show.

For the week ending October 27, Domino’s was the biggest user of Spot Cable by a wide margin as rival Papa John’s cooked up enough spots to land in at No. 8 for the week with a new campaign.

Meanwhile, Sensodyne, the toothpaste brand that until recent years was rarely found outside of the dentist’s office, has been making considerable strides against established brands such as Aqua-Fresh and Crest. This week, the brand is No. 2 by spot count.

Also of note are National Basketball Association season-opener promos running on cable TV.

How does the Spot Ten report compare?

Vice President Kamala Harris’ quest for the White House sees the Democratic presidential candidate and a related political action committee fend off a new flurry of ads from Republican channel Donald J. Trump. The former President’s campaign accounted for nearly 28,500 spots last week.
