QSR Propel Cable Into Labor Day Holiday

What was the No. 1 category using spot cable to reach consumers through the Labor Day holiday weekend?

According to the latest Media Monitors Spot Ten Cable report, it was the quick-service restaurant — and there’s a clear leader among QSRs that has risen to the top.

For the week ending Sept. 2, Burger King was the No. 1 user of spot cable, thanks to a total of 47,662 plays detected by Media Monitors.

That’s a big lead on its main competitor, McDonald’s. The Golden Arches reappear in the Spot Ten this week thanks to a climb from No. 13 to No. 6, and 30,876 plays detected.

At No. 7 for a second week is Taco Bell.

Otherwise, auto insurers continue to make their mark at spot cable, with GEICO, Progressive and Liberty Mutual Insurance in the top 5.
