Retail stocks gained after Target projected strong sales, but worries about bank regulation held down financial stocks, leading to a mixed close. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 16 points, or 0.1%, at 11,008, but the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite were up a bit. Broadcasting stocks appeared to get a boost from the retailing strength.
The RBR Radio Index was up 1.803, or 0.7%, to 275.043.
The TVBR Television Index was up 1.882, or 1%, to 183.299.
