LOS ANGELES — Wednesday (5/20) was initially set to be the concluding day of the 2020 Media Finance Focus conference, a gathering slated for the Loews Hollywood Hotel just steps away from the famed Chinese Theatre.

Alas, the COVID-19 pandemic scrubbed the confab. Instead, a virtual event is on tap, and it will begin June 16 with “A View From The Top.” Radio industry leader Darrell Brown is among the three speakers.

The keynote panel discussion is set for 10am PT/1pm ET that day, and the President of radio station licensee Bonneville International Corporation will be joined by Sinclair Sports CEO Jeff Krolik and Randy Pitchford, founder of Gearbox Entertainment Company.

The three leaders will discuss how their companies are responding to the fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic, the current state of the industry, disruption, and which of the industry’s numerous new initiatives and developments they find most exciting.

“Tapping into the media industry’s top thought leaders remains key to the success of Media Finance Focus; this year is no exception,” said Mary Collins, President/CEO of MFM and its BCCA subsidiary, the media industry’s credit association. “When our Board of Directors made the pivot to a virtual conference we knew engaging with leaders like [these] was still of paramount importance for participants. I could not be more excited to have them kick off this landmark event and engage with our virtual audience.”

The virtual conference will feature 40+ one-hour virtual sessions offered over the course of 10 weeks, beginning June 16 and concluding August 27. The sessions will be tailored to allow for interaction with the presenters in real-time. Those holding full conference registrations may attend up to 20 of the one-hour sessions.

Brown has been in his role since 2013 and oversees Bonneville’s 22 radio stations in Denver, Phoenix, Sacramento, Salt Lake City, San Francisco and Seattle markets, in addition to the operations at NBC affiliate KSL-5 in Salt Lake City.
