Meredith Corp. has selected the individual under Local Media Group President Patrick McCreery who will oversee advertising revenue growth and strategy across the Des Moines-based company’s 17 broadcast TV stations.

At the same time, the company has promoted its Director of Sales in Phoenix to the role of VP/GM.

Now serving in the role of SVP/Chief Revenue Officer for the Meredith Local Media Group is Todd Brown.

It marks a big step up for Brown, who has worked for FOX affiliate KVVU-5 in Las Vegas, a key Meredith property, for more than 16 years. He started as KVVU’s GM and eventually took on the role of VP/GM in 2012.

“Todd has been a visionary leader for the FOX 5 Las Vegas team, successfully increasing ratings and revenue,” McCreery said. “Todd’s leadership and creativity are the perfect combination to lead our sales teams and stations into the future.”

Brown served as Chairman of the Nevada Broadcasters Association from 2013 to 2017 and was awarded the Nevada Broadcasters’ Lifetime Achievement Award in 2017. Brown currently serves on the TVB Board of Directors.

Prior to joining Meredith in 2002, Brown served as GSM for KSEE-24 in Fresno.

“It has been a tremendous honor to lead and be a part of the FOX 5 Las Vegas team for the past 16 years,” said Brown. “I am excited for the opportunity to work with the sales teams across the Meredith Local Media Group and develop new and innovative ways to serve our advertisers and partners.”

Meredith will conduct a national search to replace Brown at KVVU.

Meanwhile, Meredith’s CBS affiliated KPHO-5 and news-driven unaffiliated KTVK-3 has given DOS Kevin James the role of VP/GM.

He succeeds the retiring Ed Munson, who stepped down in September.

“Kevin has been an outstanding leader in the Meredith Local Media Group since 2005, and I am confident that he is the right person to lead ‘Arizona’s Family’ into the future,” McCreery said. “Kevin has great strategic vision for CBS5 and ‘3TV’ and he understands the opportunities in our industry. I look forward to seeing great growth and success under his leadership.”

James joined Meredith in 2005 as KPHO-5 LSM and then moved to Las Vegas, taking the GSM role for KVVU-5 in 2013 He returned to Phoenix in 2017 for the Director of Sales position at CBS5 and 3TV.

Prior to joining Meredith, James worked as National Sales Manager at WLFL-22 in Raleigh.

“It is a great privilege to have the opportunity to lead the amazing team at CBS5 and 3TV. They are dedicated to providing the best local news, sports and entertainment programming in the Phoenix market,” said James. “I am grateful for Ed Munson’s mentorship over the past two years, and look forward to continuing his legacy.”
