He was a Republican U.S. Senator representing the Hoosier State in the upper body of Congress until winning election as Indiana Governor in November 2024. On January 13, Mike Braun was sworn in, succeeding Eric Holcomb as the political leader of the state.

On Wednesday, at a time when President Trump was attracting attention for a series of headline-grabbing Executive Orders in Washington, Braun signed some Orders of his own in the name of investing in a “healthier Indiana.” That’s caused alarm among broadcasters across Indiana, as important advertising revenue has all been put to a stop for radio and TV stations from Gary to Clarksville and everywhere in between.
