As March 2026 began, the Cincinnati-headquartered broadcast media company whose flagship TV station is the home of ABC network programming in this metropolis announced that it had agreed to purchase an ABC affiliate some 90 minutes to the south, in Lexington, Ky.
DirecTV wasn’t too pleased with the proposed transaction, and in late April submitted a petition to deny the deal with the FCC. Now, the Commission has spoken. And, once again, Robert Thun and his colleagues’ pleas landed with a thud at the Media Bureau.
