The FCC has received paperwork for a proposed transaction that would transfer control of 400-watt Class A FM serving Astoria, Ore., from a city in the state of Washington from the company run by Robert Meadows.
Meadows Broadcasting LLC has agreed to sell KRKZ-FM 94.3 in Chinook, Wash., just to the north of Astoria — made famous by the films The Goonies and Kindergarten Cop.
The buyer is Washington Interstate Broadcasting Company, a partnership between husband and wife John and Nicole Paul.
A $250,000 purchase price has been agreed to; a 10% escrow deposit has been paid to Meadows.
Once the deal closes, the Pauls will add KRKZ to a group of stations comprised of KLOG-AM in Kelso, KUKN-FM in Longview and two FM translators.
