In April of last year, a radio broadcasting company under the direction of Thomas and Cheryl Hodgins agreed to purchase a pair of Oregon AM radio stations. Now, they’re selling those properties — as well as an FM serving the city of Baker, Ore.
The Hodgins’ Alexandra Communications is agreeing to part ways with KLBM-AM in LaGrande, Ore., and KBKR-AM & KKBC-FM in Baker, Ore.
The buyer? Look no further than the McKone family-led KJDY LLC.
The deal includes everything but the KBKR and KLBM radio towers and Simian automation equipment that has been used by the three radio properties.
A $50,000 purchase price is confirmed, with Randy McKone signing off on the Asset Purchase Agreement. He holds 70% interest in KJDY, while Debra McKone holds the remaining 30%.
With this deal, the McKones add to a stable of stations comprised of two AMs and five FMs in Oregon. Through affiliated licensee EMG 2 LLC, they have attributable interest in three AMs and five FMs that include KWRL-FM in LaGrande and KCMB-FM in Baker.
For the Hodgins family, the sale of the two AMs comes after it paid $5,000 to Pacific Empire Radio Corporation less than one year ago for the properties.
