Maverick Media (Gary Rozynek, CEO) has closed on the sale of WNTA-AM, WXRX-FM, WRTB-FM & WRTB-FM Rockford, IL (Rockford, Belvidere, Winnebago, Rockton, IL) to Mid-West Family Broadcasting (Thomas Walker, President). WAYY-AM/WAXX-FM/WIAL-FM, WEAQ-AM, WDRK-FM & WECL-FM Eau Claire WI (Eau Claire, Chippewa Falls, Cornell, Elk Mound, WI) was also part of the deal, but that closed in October, 2013.
The price was $15.5M with $775K escrow, balance in cash at closing. Rockford closed effective June 1, 2014. The delay was caused by an issue with one of the licenses in Rockford.
The FCC file date was 4/29/13. Mid-West’s broker was Greg Guy of Patrick Communications. Maverick Media’s broker was CEA Capital Advisors.
