In an attempt to lure consumers from their favorite sunbathing sites and preferred picnic places, Macy’s turned up the heat in its marketing efforts—and used AM and FM radio to do so—into the Memorial Day holiday.
For the week ending May 28, Macy’s soared from No. 15 to No. 6 in the latest Media Monitors Spot Ten report, finishing the period with 25,490 commercials aired on radio stations tracked by the service.
Otherwise, it was a staid week for spots.
The Home Depot held on to No. 1, with 86,405 spots.
Lowe’s held steady at No. 3, with 35,334 commercials.
