Mentoring and Inspiring Women in Radio, the 501(c)(3) charitable organization dedicated to the advancement of female leadership in radio broadcasting, is partnering with the provider of data and analytics to the entertainment industry formerly known as P-MRC Data for a mentorship focused on female empowerment in the audio industry.
The “Elevating Women in Audio: MIW & Luminate Mentorship” sees the MIWs teaming up with Luminate, the company with the technology powering the Billboard music charts.
The mentorship represents the fifth year in a row MIW and Luminate are collaborating on the program designed specifically for women in music programming.
The mentorship is a year-long commitment with a mission of providing greater opportunities for women interested in management positions in audio, not just Radio. It includes personalized conversations with top radio programming leaders. The mentee also gets the chance to attend what the MIWs are branding “Radio Show 2023” at the NAB Show in Las Vegas.
This suggests a return of a full-blown audio industry event is indeed on tap for those attending the NAB Show, in response to industry demand.
The MIW/Luminate mentorship is available to one female brand manager, content/program director, assistant program director, and/or music director from any U.S. based music format. Applications are open now and are being accepted HERE through February 2, 2023.
The “Elevating Women in Audio: MIW & Luminate Mentorship” program is the first mentorship to be announced in 2023 and the only one solely focused on content. Additional mentorships across a variety of audio disciplines will continue to be announced throughout the year.
Past mentees include Leslie Scott, Vice President of Digital Audio Content, at Audacy Inc.; and most recently Traci LaTrelle, WHUR-FM in Washington, D.C. Music Director and Assistant Programming Director.
