Anti-Radio Royalty Tax Resolution Gains Steam Again

WASHINGTON, D.C. — It’s not-so-good news for groups such as musicFIRST and the recording industry giants who believe that broadcast radio — and not their own labels — should give more dough to those responsible for the music AM and FM promotes, leading to greater popularity and increased sales.


More than 200 members of the House of Representatives are now supporting a resolution opposing “any new performance fee, tax, royalty, or other charge” on local broadcast radio stations.
