$25M is enough to add a Beaumont-Port Arthur television station to Terry London’s growing Texas group – and KBMT-TV comes with more the than the usual bang for the buck. The station has been an ABC affiliate. And this year, it’s adding NBC on a digital side channel, becoming a rare single license two boast affilations with two of the big four networks.

The opportunity to do so presented itself when crosstown KBTV-TV abandoned NBC and moved over to Fox. KBTV is owned by Nexstar.

London Broadcasting Company Inc., using licensee name KBMT License Company LLC, will plunk down $1.25M in escrow and pay the remainder in cash at closing to seller Texas Telecasting Inc., headed by Michael D. McKinnon. London will also cover the costs of a new transmitter, which are not to exceed $342,966.15.

London also owns CBS KYTX-TX Nacogdoches TX, serving the Tyler-Longview DMA, and is acquiring NBC KCEN-TV Temple TX, serving the Waco-Temple-Bryan DMA.
