On December 4, 2023, Jim Loftus exited 7 Mountains Media as Chief Operations Officer to take a similar position at the company he previously spent nine years at. Now, he’s crafted a deal that will see the radio station owner he’s presently associated with acquire an FM from the company led by Kristin Cantrell.
In a deal consummated on May 23, 7MM through its Southern Belle licensee is agreeing to part ways with WLGD-FM 107.7 in Dallas, Pa., to Times Shamrock Media.
A $600,000 purchase price has been agreed upon, with half due in cash at closing. The remaining $300,000 will be honored via a Promissory Note payable in 36 monthly installments of $8,333.33.
It follows a Time Brokerage Agreement signed on May 10 that yielded control of the station to Times Shamrock.
WLGD is a part of the 7MM “Bigfoot Legends” Classic Country brand, and its signal covers the entire Wilkes Barre-Scranton market, reaching Hazleton and Carbondale in addition to parts of Honesdale, Pa.
WLGD is a Docket 80/90 sign-on that debuted in 1990 as WYMK “Y107,” targeting Wyoming County with a Unistar Classic Rock syndicated format. In 1997, Citadel acquired the property under the WEMR-FM call letters. As Oldies WCIG-FM, the facility was sold to Family Life Ministries some 15 years ago, and it used it as a home for its religious format. This ceased when the station was traded to 7 Mountains Media in a multistation transaction finalized in June 2021.
