‘Local First’: Townsquare Media’s Win-Seeking Mantra



BOCA RATON, FLA. — It’s been an interesting 15 months for Townsquare Media.

In August 2016, the media company focused on small- and medium-sized markets saw a 12% strategic investment by Madison Square Garden Company, owner of some of the nation’s top entertainment venues and three pro sports teams. Earlier this month, the company began a strategic review of its Entertainment business — a decision that came just weeks after the October 2017 transition of Steven Price to Executive Chairman of the Board, from CEO.

Today, the three-pronged media company is poised for growth in its current markets and could expand into other areas of the U.S. where holes of interest present themselves. And, it’s being co-led by Dhruv Prasad, a genial co-CEO who came on board 7 1/2 years ago after a tenure as a VP at Thomas H. Lee Partners.
