The Fox Television Stations properties serving Orlando and the adjacent Gainesville-Ocala market have a new VP/News Director. She’s a seven-year station veteran who is rising from the role of Managing Editor.
Earning the promotion is Rachel Linden, who will now oversee all editorial, business, and administrative functions for the news operations at WOFL “FOX 35” and sibling WRBW “FOX 35 Plus” in Orlando and WOGX “FOX 51” in Gainesville.
As Fox Central Florida Sr. VP/Regional GM Melissa Medalie sees it, “Rachel is a driving force for newsroom innovation and high-impact journalism. Her deep commitment to our local communities and strong strategic vision make her uniquely qualified to steer our team forward.”
Prior to joining WOFL in 2019, Linden held the role of Producer at WBRE-TV & WYOU-TV in Wilkes Barre-Scranton. She’s also worked at WKYT-TV in Lexington, Ky., and began her career in broadcasting as a producer, anchor, editor and crew member for WOUB Center for Public Media in Athens, Ohio.
“I am thrilled to take the reins as we embrace new ways to tell impactful stories,” Linden said. “Our focus is clear: push the boundaries of newsroom innovation while continuing to serve Central Florida on all platforms with the coverage they deserve.”
