Light Media growing in radio and on the Internet

Light Media Holdings, the smallest public company included in the RBR-TVBR daily stock list, announced implementation of initiatives in both its radio and Internet operations. The company has expanded from ownership of a single radio station to 49% of a CP and is working on a deal to buy another station.


According to the penny stock company, it has received an offer from a seller to acquire an unnamed station which would simulcast its lone O&O, WZBN-FM “Power 101.5…The King” Camilla, GA (Albany). The company said the potential acquisition would serve a market of approximately 125,000 people.

Light Media recently closed on an acquisition of a 49% stake in un-built WHRH-AM Lithonia, GA. The majority owner of the LLC which owns the CP for the new station on 1360 kHz is none other than Light Media CEO Danny Wilson. The company announcement said “we are in currently in discussions for the construction and development of AM 1360/WHRH.”

In the Atlanta market Light Media already LMAs WPBC-AM Decatur, GA. The new WHRH signal would be to the east and slightly south of the WPBC coverage.

As for the Augusta station, a former Cumulus station which Light Media purchased from Extreme Media, the new owner said it “has retained Dr. Lamar Ward (ordained Minister) as Operations Manager for its FM radio station Power 105.5/The King and added local morning and afternoon radio personalities to increase community outreach and sales opportunities.”

Light Media describes its business focus as “inspirational urban” music. In addition to the radio update, it announced a series of Internet enhancements:

(1) the company has redesigned leading inspirational music portal (1,537 artist accounts) adding social networking integration (facebook and twitter), as well as sales modules (MP3s and Advertising) www.GospelEngine.com;

(2) the company has repositioned www.PrayerMail.com and www.PrayerWall.com, as SmartPhone (iPhone/iPad) Apps as individuals with PrayerMail email accounts (e.g. [email protected]) have rapidly grown virally with $0.00 advertising expense to 1,261 active prayermail email users, using prayermail email accounts as communication alternatives to yahooMail, HotMail, etc.; and

(3) the company has made an offer within the past 24 hours to acquire a key internet/media property to enhance its network; and the company is divesting of non-core web-domains: ChristianBarter.com, ChristianBarter.net, ChristianCapitalFund.com, bringing total media-centric web-domains owned in its Light Media WebNetwork to 77.

Light Media, which trades on the Pinksheets as “LGMH” says it is an Inspirational Media Specialist, which markets, produces and distributes inspirational music, video, video games, print media and entertainment in the Urban Media space through its network of radio, Internet, television, print and special events global business platforms and marketing and alliance partners.
