Lifetime gets a Supernanny

Lifetime has picked up the all-new unscripted series America’s Supernanny, marking the first true U.S. version of the hit global format that will feature an American homegrown nanny.  The announcement was made today by Nancy Dubuc, President and General Manager of Lifetime Networks.

In preparation for the U.S. installment of the series, Lifetime and producer Shed Media US have launched an open casting call as part of their search for the country’s best nanny to star in the program.  Job requirements for this once in a lifetime opportunity include a tough, but loving, philosophy to caring for children; ability to determine the roots of highly emotional relationship problems within families in desperate need for help; utilize background and experience to coach parents and kids, alike, with constructive, enlightening and results-driven criticism; proof of U.S. residence…and extensive travel.  Prospective nannies can submit their information to be considered for the program at myLifetime.com, while families in need of help with their out of control kids can call 877-NANNY-TIME (877-626-6984) or email [email protected] for more information.  America’s Supernanny will premiere this year.

No family issue should be too trivial or intimidating for America’s Supernanny, who will visit the homes of parents throughout the country seeking guidance and assistance on how to best raise their children.  Diving straight into the chaos and heart of the matter, America’s Supernanny will give viewers an all-access look at troubled households by closely observing each family dynamic to pinpoint their complicated problems – ranging from extremely intense tantrums and constant timeouts to bad habits and misguided parenting – and follow through to resolve their issues to put families on the road to happiness.

“The importance of family and childcare is key to women and we are constantly looking to provide programming that involves what’s important to them,” said Dubuc.  “This program will do just that and showcase America’s Supernanny’s approach and experience to not only entertain parents and their children, but also help them work through any problems they might have.”

“Shed Media US is thrilled to work with Lifetime on re-launching our successful brand with a fresh, new, American nanny,” said Nick Emmerson, President of Shed Media US.

Lifetime has ordered eight one-hour episodes of America’s Supernanny, which will be produced by Shed Media US by Nick Emmerson and Stephanie Schwam, with Rob Sharenow, Gena McCarthy and Jim Rapsas of Lifetime executive producing.

A global hit, Supernanny has been formatted throughout the world, including Belgium, Brazil, China, France, Germany, Greece, Holland, Indonesia, Israel, Italy, Malaysia, Romania, Singapore, Spain and Sweden.
