On July 8, Cumulus Media revealed that Don Boyd has been promoted to a Regional VP and will be adding stations in Baton Rouge, Lafayette, and New Orleans, La.; and Columbus-Starkville, Miss., to his everyday duties. That left the question as to who would now be overseeing two markets due east of Mobile.

That answer has now arrived.

Earning his own promotion to Regional VP is John Lewis as Regional Vice President, expanding his oversight as RVP for the Cumulus stations in Fort Walton Beach-Destin and Pensacola, Fla., on the Panhandle.

He’ll add those markets to his current role overseeing the Huntsville, Ala., and Chattanooga, Tenn., markets for Cumulus.

A 17-year veteran of the company, Lewis earned oversight responsibilities for those two markets in 2002. He joined Cumulus Media in 2009 and also was previously Vice President/Regional Market Manager for Cumulus in Macon, Ga., and as a VP/Market Manager in Albany, N.Y.; Lexington, Ky.; and in Memphis.

“John is a proven leader when it comes to building a positive culture with a foundation of measurable results,” said Mark Sullivan, Cumulus’ Sr. VP of Operations. “I am pleased that in his expanded role, he will share his deep experience and knowledge with our terrific teams in Fort Walton Beach and Pensacola.”

Lewis commented, “I’m honored and excited to work with the Pensacola and Fort Walton Beach teams. Having spent a couple of years early in my career with Cumulus Pensacola, it’s especially meaningful to return. With outstanding teams, great brands, and a strong track record of success, I look forward to building on that momentum and helping both markets reach their full potential.”

Cumulus owns and operates four stations in Fort Walton Beach, and five stations in Pensacola.
