For CBS Corp. Chairman/CEO Les Moonves, the headline says it all — it’s impossible to go through life without his company’s broadcast TV network.
In a midday keynote presentation Monday at the 44th Annual Global Media and Communications Conference, which concludes today at the Grand Hyatt New York in Midtown Manhattan, Moonves gave some key facts to attendees about just how strong CBS is while barely mentioning CBS Radio and its spin from CBS Corp.
One reason why CBS is vitally important, he says, can be seen among the roughly 20 million people who watch the sitcom The Big Bang Theory. Furthermore, more people than that watch the National Football League telecasts aired on CBS, even with all of the chatter in business media this season about a sharp decline in the overall Nielsen ratings.
