Lee Davis To Retire From Audacy

Some 12 months after Audacy Inc. placed all of its sports inventory into a single sales platform, the veteran sales executive who serves as Sr. VP of Sports Monetization at the company with majority control held by Soros Fund Management is retiring.

It marks the end of a remarkable 35-year career for Lee Davis, who has been in his current role at Audacy since 2023, spearheading sales and enablement across the entire sports portfolio.

Davis rejoined Audacy (then-known as Entercom) in 2018 to lead the reboot of Audacy’s  Traffic Weather and Information Network (TWIN) platform. He had been at MediaCrossing, where he was Executive Vice President for the programmatic digital media agency. Before that, Davis held the role of Executive Vice President of Sales for Univision Communication’s Local Media division.

Yet, many still associate Davis for his 15 years at Sports Radio pioneer WFAN in New York, which he joined in 1990 as an Account Executive and rose through the ranks to become VP/General Manager. Under Davis, WFAN became one of the highest-billing radio stations in the U.S.

Davis has also held other leadership roles at CBS and Cox Radio.

“Lee has been a valued colleague and leader whose experience, dedication, and steady guidance have made a lasting impact on Audacy (as well as the companies he has worked at throughout his career),” said Audacy Chief Revenue Officer Bob Philips. “His contributions and presence will be greatly missed. Please join me in congratulating Lee on his retirement and in thanking him for his many years of service and leadership at Audacy. We wish him the very best in this next chapter.”
