LOS ANGELES — A contract has been signed and an application has been filed with the FCC for the transfer of radio station KCCL-FM 101.5 in Woodland, California, from Results Radio LLC to Lazer Broadcasting Company.

The Seller, Results Radio, is a California-based company headed by Jack Fritz. Results also owns radio stations in Redding, Chico, and Yuba City, California.

Lazer is a California-based company headed by Alfredo Plascencia. Lazer owns radio stations in 18 markets in California and one in Nevada.

Of the purchase of KCCL, he says “the goal is to continue to expand our coverage area to better serve the community of Sacramento.”

KCCL operates at 101.5 MHz, with 5.7 kW at 328’ HAAT. It is presently Classic Hits under the “K-Hits” brand and best reaches the city of Davis and the western portion of the market. It will be added to a group of stations including regional Mexican “Radio Lazer”-branded KGRB-FM 94.3 in Jackson, Calif., in the Sierra Foothills due southeast of downtown Sacramento; “Radio Lazer” partner KBAA-FM 103.3 in Grass Valley, serving Auburn and communities well to the northeast of Sacramento; and KLMG-FM 97.9 in Esparto, Calif., northwest of Woodland and branded as “Latino.”

KCCL is expected to become a “Radio Lazer” home, given its signal contour and coverage of central Sacramento.

As KMJE, the 101.5 MHz signal debuted in August 1996. It traded facilities with KCCL, then at 92.1 MHz, in May 2014 after a transaction between Results Radio and Lotus Communications.
