The producers of decade-specific conventions for fans of retro-pop culture have teamed with the Miami-Fort Lauderdale radio stations owned and operated by iHeartMedia to bring the newly created NostalgiaCon Miami ‘80s pop culture convention to fruition.
NostalgiaCon, a creation of Hispanicize founder Manny Ruiz, a Hispanic marketing and advertising industry veteran, was first staged in July 2019 in Orange County, Calif.
The next event is scheduled for April 25-26 at the MANA Convention Center in Miami’s trendy Wynwood Arts District.
As the presenting partner of NostalgiaCon Miami, iHeartMedia plans to leverage its nine South Florida audio brands, comprised of Hot AC WHYI-FM “Y-100”; Latin Contemporary WZTU-FM 94.9; Adult Hits WMIA-FM 93.9; Urban WMIB-FM 103.5 “The Beat”; Classic Rock WBGG-FM 105.9; News/Talk WIOD-AM 610; Sports Talk WINZ-AM 940; and FM translators with limited signals used for Country “The Bull 104.7,” in Davie, Fla.; and Rhythmic AC “Throwback 105.5” in West Miami.
The stations will promote and market the convention across on-air and digital properties.
Further, iHeartMedia’s participation will include sponsorship collaborations for branded activations, VIP fan experiences, contests, giveaways, and grassroots promotions.
Serving as chair of the convention’s national advisory board: iHeartLatino Chairman/Chief Creative Officer Enrique Santos.
“This partnership turbo-charges NostalgiaCon Miami, immediately elevating our show’s stature and content offering for the benefit of our fans, sponsors, performers, celebrities, and exhibitors,” said Ruiz. “The fact our convention features major music concerts with original ‘80s artists as a vital component of the show makes it even more strategic to have a presenting partner like iHeartMedia on board.”
