Latest BP radio ad counts up dramatically

Media Monitors, the leader in broadcast and cable monitoring released the latest BP ad counts for Radio, TV and Cable for the week of August 10 to August 16. In light of the announcement by Florida Gov. Charlie Crist, who said his state needs to spend $35 million on an emergency advertising blitz to calm tourists, it looks like BP has taken notice and ploughed some more money into media.


Radio ads increased from 2,063 to 10,684 last week. TV ads were flat from 2,583 spots to 2,584, while Cable increased to 5,090 from 4,689 commercials the previous week.  The top 25 markets where BP ran radio were:

Clearly, BP is advertising a lot in the state of Florida on radio. On the TV side, Washington, DC seems to be the #1 target.
